Kratiko (State) Lottery Main Facts
The New Year's Eve Lottery, also known as the Special State Social Solidarity Lottery, was introduced in 1967, replacing the “Journalists’ Lottery”.
It circulates once a year, in December, and it draws on the last day of the year.
Every ticket costs €5.
The Lottery tickets circulate in series of 100,000 tickets, each one of which has a number, from 1 to 100,000.
Each year it is printed in series of 100,000 tickets.
It offers more than 55% of its gross revenues to the winners.
The net revenues of this Lottery are offered to the State.
The prize of the Grand Ticket (the first number drawn that corresponds to a ticket) is well-known and amounts to €2,000,000.
The winnings of the whole set of five that includes the winnings of the first ticket are €3,000,000!
